Ok so from mondays lesson we were spilt into groups and me, maria and david are together.
So on thursday we talked about what we were going to do for the rest of this week and next and also decided on four targets that we want to have acheieved by next week these were:
Hot seat characters, Decide when it will be set, Decide on a climax and decide on a begginning.
We began thursdays lesson by filling in the rehearsal schedule and decided that in period 2 we would hotseat the characters. We did this by interviewing each person in turn as if they were interviewing for a job in a drama company.
From this is found that: I'm 21, my mum is a hairdresser and my dad is a petrol station attendant who i dont see much of even though my parents are still together, grew up in sheppey, can't do any accents, did drama all the way up my education and wanted to do it in uni but they said i was too ditzy, i'm comfortable with singing and dancing, i have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, single, very enthusiastic, i'm a bit away with the fairies a lot of the time and i need a lot of language coaching.
We then had some time left so we did a mini conversational thing where we all were in character and we meeting eachother for the first time as if we'd all got the job. From this i found: my name is elizabeth, i dont have much brains, i get insulted a lot by morgan (maria) but dont get it and i'm a virgin.
We also talked to Miss about possible climaxes and came up with: an illness, long lost family members, offered a job in australia, terror attack? We also talked about it possibly being set in the 70's and possibly the three of us coming from different social backgrounds.
So for next week our targets are: Decide on a climax, decide on a begginnin and choose a time for it to be set.
Good work Emily - I think its great to set yourself these short term targets but dont be a slave to them ... some decisions are best not forced but allowed to happen more organically through the rehearsal process. Your blogs are getting increasingly detailed but please do try to reference at least one question EVERY blog.
